I recently did a list of items I found helpful during the newborn stage and beyond for a friend that is expecting her first baby. It got me thinking... baby crap is really overwhelming (and by crap, I meant stuff that you can't live without but honestly can't believe your spending that much money on it at the time). So, with that in mind, I though I would start a little list of items that have caught my eye for baby #2 (whenever that may be).
Registering the first time, I felt totally overwhelmed. In hindsight, I wish I had taken more time, and had done a little more research. I had no idea that a) a baby required that much stuff and b) there was so many different brands and varieties of said stuff (yes, I was totally naive.) I hate clutter. And unnecessary junk. And things that are crappy quality. And while I am not the trendiest of people, I do appreciate nice looking things, so I have compiled this list. (Obviously, we will reuse a lot of the stuff we had for T, but just in case, here it is!)
ps. I am aware that a lot of these items are a bit ridiculous and crazy expensive. BUT, it is a wish list, right?
1. aden + anais muslin swaddling blankets
Not only are they pretty, but they are stretchy, breathable, and really versatile. I just used regular receiving blankets for Miss T when she was teeny tiny and she could bust outta those like nobody's business! I have heard amazing things about these blankets and would definitely like to give them a go for round 2.
2. A baby video monitor
At first, I thought this was totally over the top. I mean, a simple baby monitor that transmits sound should be sufficient right? Well, I kinda wish I had gone for this from the get go, especially ever since we sleep trained T. It would be nice to see what goes on in that nursery of hers during nap time without having to disturb her (especially since I'm fairly confident she spends the first 20 minutes farting around in her crib). The one pictured above is from Summer Infant and is supposed to be top notch.
3. 4moms
OK, this isn't an item, but a website that contains amazing, AMAZING things. I first saw this mamaRoo on Ellen's Mother's Day Giveaway Show, and it blew my mind.
Then, I was checking out BuyModernBaby (an AWESOME site) and really liked the look of this:
The 4moms Breeze (because, honestly, you don't need all that other crap pack n' plays come with.) 4moms is also the creator of the Origami, that stroller that opens and folds itself with a touch of a button. MIND BLOWN.
4. And while I'm at it, how beautiful is this nursery and big girl bedroom for T?
