1. Jamie Oliver's Broccoli Salad
This one was a winner before I even made it! This salad combined 4 of my favourite things:
1. broccoli
2. dijon vinaigrette
3. bacon
4. Jamie Oliver.
It did not disappoint. SO FREAKING GOOD. I have a feeling this will be a staple this summer.
2. A Hooded Towel
The hooded towels I received as hand me downs for T have served their purpose but they are tiny and not very absorbent. I was really excited when I stumbled upon this tutorial.
a) It gave me a chance to use my new sewing machine I got for my birthday
b) It didn't look like rocket science
c) It was cheap to make
Mine turned out like this:
Not perfect but I'm pretty darn proud of it. And its so cozy and snuggly compared to her other ones. I bought a few more towels and fun ribbon and I can't wait to make more. The only suggestion I would make is when you cut the hand towel, cut a couple inches from each side so that your seam at the end isn't too thick to sew. Also, that stuffed cow is T's obsession. She cannot sleep without it. It's a Melissa & Doug cow and I'm desperately searching for another one (a "just in case" cow... heaven forbid I have to wash this one!) but I can't find one in Canada (or on a site that will ship to Canada). If anyone knows
where I could find it, I would be super grateful!!
3. And in honor of Easter... Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies
Oh. Em. GEE. I don't normally talk like a 13 year old Bieber obsessed tween but these Blondies are ridiculous. And the reason why I might as well not do my 30 Day Shred at all this week. I love Easter (and all the candy that comes along with it) and these are melt-in-your-mouth amazing.
Next project I want to tackle: More sewing!
How freaking cute is this dress pattern??!!
